Ms Thorvaldsdottir’s academic background is in psychology and health sciences, and her main research interest centers on help-seeking for trauma recovery, emphasizing socio-cultural barriers and facilitators. Other interests include developing and evaluating self-report measures, cognitive interviewing methodology, and a trauma-informed approach to research. She is currently working on a postdoctoral scholarship where she is researching traumatic loss and traumatic loss responses.
